Tony is a fine artist, willing to tackle any subject. As a customer you can trust his extensive experience to choose an angle and composition that best reflects your special day. He produces a genuine and authentic work of art that recreates an atmosphere in a way that photographs and videos lack.

On The Day.

Tony brings his easel and brushes into the midst of your event. He can observe quietly painting from the wings at the reception or even the church or he can stand amongst the flow of guests outdoors on the terrace. He works Alla Prima (wet on wet) and can complete a 16x20" canvas in one sitting. Whilst painting guests often come to chat, they are then delighted to be skilfully woven into the painting! Interested small children are often shocked to be handed a brush and asked to help paint a bit of sky....

What about likeness?

Tony's work is urgent and impressionist in style, the figures are small and often rendered in a few bravura gestural strokes however the poise, posture and positioning of the figures will leave you in no doubt who's who.

Individual figures?

The skill of wedding painting is depicting the guests. Obviously the couple are put in but then Tony finds it best to include guests that stand out or that wish to pose. This painting is about actually capturing an atmosphere on the day and leaving space for spontaneity. It’s an evolution that your guests contribute to and interact with. Of course it’s also hugely entertaining, Tony loves painting in front of an audience. A wedding photographer captures a moment, your painting will capture several hours and many of the tales there in.

Tony takes a photo of the painting the moment it is completed and colour corrects and crops it on the spot sending it straight to you there and then. Couples love sharing the painting on social media before even the officials photographers photos are available.

From photos

Tony will work from photos to produce a more composed painting from his studio. He likes to take a number of snaps whilst he's working and can produce more paintings of your event from the studio. These might be charming small portraits of one or two of the guests or much larger format panoramic scenes of the whole event.

Costs are based on your event being within a days reach of Sussex however Tony will travel anywhere in the world.

Booking procedure and prices

After discussing your ideas with Tony he can probably give a ballpark figure for the paintings on the phone and then issue a proposal via email, detailing framing costs, travel and other details.

50% of the quoted fee is required to book the date with the rest due the week before the day (the booking form contains exact terms). This may then incorporate any extras such as additional giclee prints and framing.

Tony uses the finest framer and can discuss your framing requirements. Paintings are shipped by courier in custom packaging within 30 days of the wedding day.

Scanning and prints

Tony's work is scanned as standard on his return by his local fine art reproduction studio. He can then go on to produce fine Giclee art prints on the finest art cloth, the print is then hand signed by the artist, bonded into custom cut mounts and backing board before being wrapped in cellophane. As well as the prints being a beautiful gift for special guests the high resolution scanned file can also be emailed to you for use in the design of thank you cards.

Guests are also welcome to contact Tony for prints at a later date.
